Yordan Kisyov (1945)

Yordan Kisyov was born on January 19, 1945 in Bisertsi village, near Razgrad town. He studied in the National School of Fine Arts until 1964 and graduated in Mural Painting from the Sts. Cyril and Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo in 1972. Kisyov became a curator of the art gallery in Silistra town in 1973 and from 1990 until the present moment he has been its director. His works have been exhibited in all group exhibitions in Bulgaria and in numerous exhibitions abroad; he has been also actively involved in various plein air and other artistic events. He views art as an adventure, a journey through unseen worlds and even an exquisite escape from reality. With this approach Kisyov creates abstract images using unconventional means of expression.
