Nikolay Ruschukliev (1932)

Nikolay Ruschukliev was born on November 15, 1932 in Pleven town. In 1961 he graduated from the National Academy of Arts under the tutorage of Prof. Nenko Balkanski and was assigned the job of drawing teacher in the town of Ruse. He spent his life there, using one of the old names of that town – Ruschuk as his creative pseudonym. He participated in all group exhibitions with landscapes, portraits and figural compositions. He used to work as a curator of the town’s art gallery and as a painting teacher in Veliko Tarnovo University. The painter donated over 400 of his works to 16 galleries throughout the country.

He was awarded the Order of Sts. Cyril and Methodius – 2nd degree in 1974.
